APPLICATIONS
- All applications must be accompanied by a deposit of 75 euros (enrolment fee) by using one of the payment methods stated.
- Full payment of the course must be made before the course starts.
- lf you make a bank transfer, a copy of proof of payment must be sent with the application form
- (Please state your name on the copy of proof of payment)
- The course and accommodation will be reserved upon receipt of your application form and deposit payment. You will be sent the confirmation and invoice regarding your reservation
CANCELLATIONS
- Notification of cancellation must be sent in writing to International House Madrid / Spanish
- Department at [email protected].
- lf cancellation is received 15 days before the course start date, all payments and 50% of the deposit will be refunded. The deposit will not be refunded in the case of a cancellation received with less than 15 days’ notice before the start date.
- IH Madrid does not refund payments of courses and/or accommodation once the course has started.
- If the student decides to leave the course after the start date, there will be no refund.
- In intensive or extensive courses it is not possible to make up classes not attended as they are
- group classes.
- For cancellations of one-to-one classes, it is necessary to give written notice to [email protected] at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, the class cannot be made up.
- Situations of fource majeure. If the course is canceled due to a situation of force majeure, such as a state of alarm or similar such circumstances, the student will have the option of finishing the course online in a virtual classroom. If the student does not want to use this format, the following conditions will apply:
- If the course has not yet started, the full cost of the course will be refunded.
- If the course has already started, the proportional amount of the remainder of the course will be refunded, minus a 70€ administration charge.

ACCOMMODATION
- All accommodation is booked from the Sunday evening before the course starts until the Saturday morning after the course ends. The prices quoted are for this period. In the case of it being impossible to arrange the travel in this period, extra nights can normally be arranged on payment of a supplement.
- Information about accommodation is sent during the two weeks prior to the start date of the course.
- The school will provide information about the host family or any other kind of accommodation.
- There will also be information about location and a brief description about the hosts as well as
- pictures.
- The school will ensure the students have a comfortable stay and it will make any necessary
- changes whenever there is a reason for it.
- Accommodation rules for students (homestay)
- Accommodation must be paid in full before the student’s arrival.
- Students must adapt to the customs and rules of the host families and the accommodation chosen.
- Students must make it clear what kind of illnesses or allergies or dietary restrictions they have.
- In homestay accommodation, students are not allowed to use the kitchen or store their own food, unless the student has requested it and the family has given permission.
- Arrival times, eating habits, invitations to other students, etc. should be discussed directly with the family.
- The student, over 18 years of age, will be provided with a key to the house and the gate.
- Rooms in any accommodation cannot be locked for security reasons.
- Students must respect the communal areas, as well as the cleanliness of the same
- Laundry service is included in the homestay accommodation once a week. Water and electricity costs are included in the accommodation price.
- The student may use the services and common elements of the house (electricity, hot water, TV,
- etc.) within reasonable limits.
- If the student wishes to receive an overnight visit, he/she must have the prior consent of the family and the school and there will be a surcharge equivalent to extra nights.
- In all types of accommodation, students must leave the room as they found it on arrival and return the key before departure.
- Any extension on the student’s stay must be communicated to the school as soon as possible so we make sure that it can be provided.
HEALTH MEDICAL CONDITIONS
- We need to be notified of any types of serious medical conditions//allergies or dietary requirements.
- Any special medication should be brought from your home as school is not allowed to provide any
- medicine for their students.
- EU citizens should have a valid EHIC and non EU CITIZENS should hold their own health insurance.
- IH Madrid can provide medical insurance upon request.
AIRPORT TRANSFER
- IH Madrid offers an assisted pick up service (airport-Madrid and return). On arrival to Madrid a member of our staff will be waiting for the student with a sign with his/her name on it and an International House logo at the gate of his/her flight.
