As a student in any of our centres, you will have access to a large range of free services that will allow you to take the maximum advantage of time in our centre.

Library
Reference books-dictionaries- grammar books...novels- classics- science fiction - history- biography... Text books - exercise books. Our superbly equipped libraries allow you to access all sorts of reference in order to complete your studies. Our librarians are well informed and only too pleased to help you find what you need. If its resources, a place to study or quietly read this is the place to come.

Book shop
Buy all your course books as well as reference material for your language course from our internal bookshop.
These are all course recommended exercise and reference books with many of them written by current or ex International House teachers.

Resource centre
Recorded tapes of your favourite books to help improve your pronunciation, intonation, style... CD-ROM... Etc.

Video club
Comedy, Drama, Suspense….
Choose from hundreds of films, all in their original version with subtitles in English or Spanish. Practice your language while enjoying a great film at the same time.

Whenever you need a space to study in calm and silence, our self study area is available.
Equipped with latest in both computer hardware & software, you will have free access to the best on-line language course program: ih Net Languages which will add an effective and entertaining complement to your studies.

Group work area
Often your course requires group tasks; this area offers you both the space and resources to complete all tasks required.

Cyber café
Complete your tasks; access web sites to help you in your studies as well as subscribing to and studying your free weekly e-lesson. All can be utilised in our Cybercafé and all in a great atmosphere.

Cafeteria & social area
Relax while practicing your language skills in our comfortable café bar. International House Madrid welcomes students from all nations to its Spanish courses as well as local students studying English. The bar in our main centre at Alonso Martinez normally becomes the focal point for this International mix exchanging languages and cultures

TV & press
Keep in touch with world events or just watch to practice your language skills with our free satellite TV. Accessing International and local channels such as BBC, CNN, Tele-Madrid.
International Press
Know what is happening today in the world of commerce, politics and human interest with our selection of national & international newspapers and magazines.

Cultural activities
Trips, dinners, parties etc. We organise a varied programme of social activities for all our Spanish students. These are generally free and include welcome and farewell parties, visits and excursions in and out of the city, video films in Spanish, lectures, theatre, workshop, etc. The fact that we have over 1,000 native Spanish students studying other languages helps you to make friends and improve your fluency at parties and in the bar. We also organise a linguistic exchange programme.
